Welcome to my website, http://www.yvonnebutler.com. I am a photographer who is now and always has been on a mission to SEE things in every day life and capture them in ways that will surprise, amaze, please and even haunt you. I work in both film and digital but the bulk of my work of the past eight years has been done with professional digital cameras. If an item on my website is listed as photography then it is minimally enhanced just to present it properly for viewing, i.e. minor color adjustment and balancing. If an item is listed as a photomontage, photo illustration, photocollage or such, that is what it is; the images may start out as either silver halide or digital film and then get combined with others or creatively worked-on in the computer. Ansel Adams and other great photographers worked for weeks and weeks on a single image in the darkroom and many photographers today do the very same thing in a digital darkroom with computers and printers instead of chemicals and enlargers. Our job, no matter what techniques are involved, is to Paint With Light and interpret and show you what we see through our own eyes through the lens. Tell me your thoughts!
